For Wong Kar Wai’s first-ever showcase of exclusive film memorabilia, the legendary director has handpicked a number of collectibles from his archive to present at K11 MUSEA, each item encapsulating a symbolic moment in his decades-long oeuvre.

Take a look back at the many milestones of Wong’s creative journey at Sothebys Hong Kong 2021 Autumn Auctions Preview – where you’ll see an autographed poster of ‘The Grandmaster’, marked by Wong’s rarely seen artist’s seal and his calligraphy work; the lighter and pen used by Chow Mo-wan from ‘In the Mood for Love’ presented along with the 2046 motel door plate in Wong’s ‘Secret’ box set, which alludes to Chow and Su Li-zhen’s secretive rendezvous in the film.

Over 40 pieces of modern and contemporary art by Asian and Western masters are also showcased at the auction preview. Marvel at Auguste Rodin’s marble masterpiece ‘Napoléon Enveloppé dans Son Rêve’. Known as the father of modern sculpture, the 19th- and early 20th century French artist created some of the best-known sculptures of our time.

Witness the dynamic movement of Kazuo Shiraga’s post-Gutai period masterpiece ‘Yougen’. The seminal Japanese artist is renowned for his gestural “foot painting”, which he created by pouring paint on the canvas and smearing colours with his feet.
